MCCHE is the Center for Civic Education’s state partner for the We the People program. A comprehensive curriculum covering the history and principles of constitutional democracy in the United States, We the People: The Citizen and the Constitution, is accessible to elementary, middle, and high school students.
We the People culminates with simulated congressional hearings where students testify before a panel of judges acting as members of Congress.
MCCHE hosts the We the People state competition annually allowing Maryland’s top high school to advance to the We the People National Finals held each spring in Washington, D.C.
