To empower secondary students for effective and responsible civic engagement, MCCHE is partnering with the Center for Civic Education for the Project Citizen Integrated Civic Competencies program. Our goal is to provide professional learning that helps educators enhance students’ civic knowledge while simultaneously developing their civic skills.
Our Summer Institute offers immersive, hands-on professional learning, providing access to best practices that strengthen civic competencies and promote inclusion in the social studies classroom. Educators will collaborate with peers from across the region to explore strategies that integrate social-emotional learning with civic education, fostering both student engagement and meaningful civic skill development. Learn from our expert mentor teachers who have successfully piloted this curriculum. By participating, you will gain practical tools and approaches that enhance your teaching effectiveness, helping you become a more confident, impactful, and reflective educator.
